Mommy Makeover Surgery in Bangalore

Medically reviewed by Dr Sreekar Harinatha, MCh (Plastic Surgery)

A mommy makeover is a set of cosmetic procedures that restore the body after pregnancy and breastfeeding. It usually combines a tummy tuck, a breast lift or augmentation, and liposuction. At Contura Clinic, Bangalore, Dr Sreekar Harinatha plans each makeover around your concerns. The procedures can be done in one surgery or in stages.

Why do women choose a mommy makeover?

Most women gain 10–15 kg during pregnancy. The fat settles in the breasts, abdomen, flanks, hips, lower back, buttocks and thighs. After childbirth and breastfeeding, many women notice:

  • loose tummy skin and stretch marks around the navel and lower abdomen
  • separated tummy muscles (diastasis recti) that exercise can't fix
  • breasts that have lost volume or sag
  • stubborn fat that doesn't shift with diet or exercise
  • uneven weight loss, for example a smaller bust but a fuller waist

What does a mommy makeover include?

You choose one or more of these, based on your goals:

When is the right time for a mommy makeover?

It is best to wait until you have finished having children, your weight has been stable for some months, and at least 6 months have passed since you stopped breastfeeding. A future pregnancy can stretch the skin and muscles again.

One surgery or in stages?

The procedures can be combined in one surgery or spread over two or more operations. Combining them means one anaesthesia and one recovery. Staging keeps each operation shorter. Dr Sreekar advises which is safer for you, based on your health and the procedures chosen.
