# Ear Lobe Repair Surgery in Bangalore

Ear lobe repair fixes a torn, split or stretched ear lobe hole and restores the lobe's natural shape. It is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures. ## What causes a torn or stretched ear lobe?

- Wearing heavy earrings for a long time
- Ear gauges that are increased in size or worn for long periods
- An earring that gets caught and pulled
- Young children pulling on earrings
- Several piercings placed too close together, or too near the bottom of the lobe
- A sudden injury


## How is a torn ear lobe repaired?

The lobe is numbed with a small injection. The stretched or split skin edges are trimmed, and the lobe is stitched back together in its natural shape. The whole procedure takes about 10–15 minutes, and you can go home straight away.


## When can I wear earrings again?

Wait at least 3 weeks before re-piercing. The new hole should be placed a little away from the repaired area, to lower the chance of the lobe tearing again. Choose lighter earrings in future.
