# Mommy Makeover Research: What the Studies Show

Two 2015 studies in *Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery* by Matarasso and Smith support combining procedures after pregnancy. They describe the tummy tuck as central to postpartum body contouring, often with liposuction of the flanks and pubic area. Combining breast surgery with a tummy tuck can be safe and effective in the right patient. Preventing blood clots is a key safety step when procedures are combined.
