Lipo-abdominoplasty combines a tummy tuck with liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, back and pubic area. It removes loose skin, tightens the muscles and slims the whole waistline in one surgery. Compared with a standard tummy tuck, it usually needs a shorter scar and has fewer complications, such as numbness, swelling and bruising. How is it different from a standard tummy tuck?
A standard tummy tuck removes loose skin and tightens the muscles. Lipo-abdominoplasty adds liposuction, which also slims the love handles, upper abdomen and pubic mound for a smoother, more sculpted shape.
